VICTORY: Office of the Chief Justice agrees to extend IEC Commissioner nomination deadline

A day after My Vote Counts and the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution wrote to the Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) requesting a deadline extension for IEC Commissioner nominations, they responded and agreed to extend it to 25 February 2022.

This is a major victory for us as it is important that this be a transparent process and allow for the best candidates to be nominated.
