The IEC Commissioner interviews will also be live streamed on the YouTube page of the OCJ.

The interview panel consists of the Chief Justice, Public Protector, Chairperson of the Commission for Gender Equality, and the Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission. The 12 candidates are:

The IEC is one of the most important institutions of our democracy and it is crucial that it remains independent. Therefore, the processes associated with the appointment of its commissioners must be transparent and open to public scrutiny.

To ensure this, we encourage members of the media to be present and report on the interviews and the candidate selection process.
